Tibetan Bowl sessions
What a Tibetan Bowl Sound Session is: A Tibetan Bowl Sound Session is an opportunity for you to relax into your true nature. The sound and the vibration produced by these ancient instruments touches every cell in the physical body and gently brings the recipient into a state of deep relaxation. In this state one has access to a greater power to transform consciousness than is typically experienced in a normally conscious state. The “touch” of these instruments also gently awakens the memory of physical perfection, reduces stress, and helps balance the spiritual, emotional and physical bodies – all of which contribute to activating the body’s natural ability to heal.
Our Spiritual and Physical Connection with Sound. Working with and through sound to attune with numinous energies, restore psychic and systemic balance, and promote bodily health is a spiritual practice found in many cultures, and is millennia old. The oldest known instruments, bone flutes, are perhaps 35,000 years old, associated with the earliest evidences of human religious impulses expressive of connectedness with nature and the cosmos, which can be seen in the cave drawings and, scientists propose, unmistakably ritual intent in the placement of objects like the cave bear skull found resting on an altar-like boulder, at Chauvet Pont d’Arc in France.
The use of singing bowls is rooted in Himalayan sacred practices. Some of the bowls used by practitioners are hundreds of years old, made of seven sacred metals and imbued with prayerful intention to create deep meditative states or bring realignment and healing to specific areas of the body.
Western medical research is documenting the effects of sound on the human nervous system, and its positive effects with regard to patients’ response to treatment of many diseases, including cancer.
And, if you had not heard, the universe resonates to the key of b-flat!
